The Pendleton & Elisabeth Carey Miller Charitable Foundation
Welcome, and thank you for your interest in the Pendleton and Elisabeth Carey Miller Charitable Foundation. During their lives, Mr. and Mrs. Miller were very generous in supporting many charitable activities and organizations. The Foundation was established in 1994 to perpetuate their philanthropic legacy.
Focusing on the Pacific Northwest, the Foundation makes grants primarily to civic and cultural institutions that serve the general public in a variety of ways, with an emphasis on gardens and horticulture, as well as on the region’s history. The work of the Foundation is carried out by a combination of paid and volunteer Leadership.
Over the years, the Foundation has distributed more than $12 million to dozens of Grant Recipients, and the Photo Gallery highlights the work of selected recipients. Application Information is provided for those curious about the Foundation’s grant making criteria and procedures.
