Great Plant Picks (GPP) is the primary educational program of the Elisabeth C. Miller Botanical Garden and is committed to building a comprehensive palette of outstanding plants for maritime Pacific Northwest gardens. GPP was introduced to the gardening public in 2001 and 15 plants debuted as GPP award winners that year. Today, there are over 1,000 plants found on the GPP website: www.greatplantpicks.org, each one with images and information about its outstanding qualities and culture. GPP is one of the few programs that includes input from professionals in retail and wholesale nurseries, landscape designers, city park officials, botanical gardens, and arboretums. Each year, the Miller Foundation provides most of the funding for GPP.
