The Tropical Butterfly House at Pacific Science Center (PacSci) is the only one of its kind in Washington State. PacSci annually sources more than 100 different butterfly species as chrysalises from farmers who raise them in their countries of origin, sustaining both butterfly species and the habitats that support a host of other organisms. Each year, over 600,000 visitors of all ages experience a living exhibit landscaped with a diverse variety of tropical trees and flowering plants where free-flying butterflies feed, sun themselves, and interact with each other and with visitors. The Miller Foundation provided support for the Butterfly House in 2006.
